Ecological thinking
We are not green even if we think green
Environmental protection is a concern for many. Bloomzt has chosen to put sustainability at the center of our business. That's why we try to respect an ecological approach for each of the different stages of our work: organic and/or environmentally responsible goods, environmentally certified inks, plastic-free packaging.
Organic cotton
Cotton is a resource-intensive material, especially water. 2,700 liters of water are needed for a T-shirt, from the irrigation phase to production, and its cultivation often involves the use of substances that are harmful to our health. Pesticides, insecticides and other chemicals that frankly aren't very nice. This is where our SUPER alternative comes in, organic cotton!
Organic cotton is a healthy crop that requires much more reasonable water consumption (on average only 40 liters for a T-shirt). It's a wise choice if you want to combine quality and skin-friendliness without feeling guilty.
We mainly work with textile companies that are committed to an ecological approach, with respect for the environment and human labor (STANDARD 100 of OEKO-TEX® certification; OCS, affiliated with the Fair Wear Foundation).
Recycled textiles
In the midst of the whirlwind of unbridled consumerism that is the textile industry today, recycled cotton and polyester are – ironically – a breath of fresh air. The principle? Think of textile consumption as a circular process, by reusing fibers from clothing waste (in the case of recycled cotton) or by converting non-renewable materials such as plastic bottles into (recycled polyester).
Two different cases, same fight: products designed to be healthy, resource efficient and have a minimal impact on the planet. And to top it all off, all these products are of excellent quality. They're not just okay, they're really great. All the prerequisites are in place to make them strong and durable pieces that will stand the test of time.
Durable wooden frames and paper
Our Fine Art Giclée papers and wooden frames are made only from resources from sustainable forestry areas. This program ensures the conservation and protection of biological diversity, regeneration of forest habitats and reduction of the effects of exploitation of forest areas for future generations. The paper produced at these mills is certified for traceability of wood fibers from an origin from non-threatened forests.
If you want to leave the forest alone, you can try our cotton or bamboo paper (Hahnemuhle Photo Rag or Bamboo). These contain no optical brighteners and are acid- and lignin-free and meet the most demanding requirements in terms of age resistance. The longer the lifespan, the more likely you are to keep your prints longer. It also has an environmental effect and at the same time it is good to remember that your beautiful flower pictures do not fade as soon as the first spring sun seeps into the room. In fact, we are talking about durability of 100 years or more!
Environmentally friendly Eco ink
Our inks take care of your skin, but also of the environment. Our gorgeous flower motifs are printed on textile with water-based inks, 100% eco-certified by OEKO-TEX® ECO PASSPORT and by the very serious GOTS 5.0 label, and are VEGAN.
Neopigment, water-based inks are 100% harmless and toxin-free. They meet the strictest industry standards defined by the Oeko-Tex 100 safety applications for baby clothing, Global Organic Textiles (GTOTS-3V), Residues Standard List (RSL) and the American Association of Textile Chemists and Colorists.
Eco solvent ink comes from ether extract of refined mineral oil. Although they still contain harmful solvents, they have a much lower VOC content than regular solvent inks and are significantly less hazardous.
We have minimized the use of solvent inks throughout our supply chain and ensure that either neo-pigment or eco-solvent inks are used.
In short, it can't get much better today.
